BJP gherao 'New TMC' MLA Sandipan Saha's house in Entally, protest over 'cut money'
A shocking murder in Raidighi’s Mena village in South 24 Parganas has triggered tension after the blood-stained body of a young man, identified as Kishore Majhi, was recovered on Tuesday. The incident comes amid an ongoing election atmosphere, adding a political dimension to the case even as police continue their investigation.
According to preliminary findings, the victim was allegedly killed after being called away from a local gathering late Monday night. Police have detained his wife and her alleged lover, Gobinda Halder, and suspect that the crime may have stemmed from a personal dispute linked to a suspected extramarital relationship. Investigators are examining all angles, with early indications pointing toward a possible love triangle as the motive behind the killing.
However, the incident has quickly taken a political turn. The BJP has claimed that Kishore was an active party worker and alleged that the murder was a planned political attack carried out by miscreants backed by the Trinamool Congress. The party has demanded a thorough and impartial probe, raising concerns over safety and law and order during the election period.
The Trinamool Congress has strongly denied the allegations, stating that the incident is a family-related matter being politicised for electoral gains. Meanwhile, police have seized evidence from the scene and initiated a detailed investigation to determine the exact sequence of events, as tension persists in the area and demands for justice grow louder.
